Why I Suck at Mission Statements (an Introduction)
Welcome to the first entry at Office Repo. I've just deleted and replaced the default Wordpress "Hello World" with joy and I'm ready to start sharing all of my thoughts and web gatherings with the world. Feel free to check out the About page to see what we're all about . . . but here's what we're going to do. Become Better Businesspeople I don't know about you, but I don't have a fancy business degree. I just do what I do well (thinks I) and decided to take the plunge into running the show. I will work hard to learn more about the whole experience (from banking, taxes, and invoicing to productivity tips to dealing with the rigors of a home office or psychotic client). Be More Productive I am a thorough individual and waaay into the whole GTD / productivity thing. I hate the wasted time spent in the corporate world and I'd like to share and learn tips about calendars, to-do lists, collaboration, etc. And also for those of us in a home office-- how to stay focused on the tasks at hand and not waste time on YouTube or playing World of Warcraft. Use Technology to Grow I will constantly be talking about the different applications I use and discover (be forewarned, I'm a Mac guy)-- we have great tools at our disposal. Throw away your Outlook and check out what's out there on the horizon! Share Our Feelings With The Group My wife stares at me with a yawn when I start waxing on about GTD or productivity or the woes of starting a small business.Who to talk to!?! I'd like to start this as a forum of great information for small business owners. So that's that. Feel free to contribute, email, or just hang out.
